Pregnancy Symptoms

If you’ve recently had unprotected sex and think you might be pregnant, there are a lot of things to consider. We encourage you not to get ahead of yourself. First, you need to know for sure whether you are pregnant. Here are some of the symptoms that could suggest pregnancy.

Common Early Pregnancy Symptoms

Missed Period

A missed period is the most common indication, but it doesn’t necessarily mean you are pregnant. A missed period alone can actually indicate a number of other issues. However, in combination with any of the below symptoms, it could indicate pregnancy.

Fatigue

Progesterone is a hormone naturally created by the body. During pregnancy, there is an increase in progesterone, and that escalation often causes fatigue. Exhaustion is one of the most commonly reported early signs of pregnancy for many women.

Breast Tenderness

Many women notice increased sensitivity in their breasts early on in pregnancy, as early as one to two weeks after conception.

Food Cravings or Aversions

Food cravings or aversions can start early on in pregnancy. It is not uncommon to be repelled by smells you normally would not be or crave foods that you usually wouldn’t care for. This might be caused by hormonal changes brought on by pregnancy.

Other Reported Early Signs of Pregnancy Include:

  • Frequent urination
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Lightheadedness or fainting
  • Backaches
  • Darkening of the nipples
